A Village Head And six Others Killed I Southern Kaduna

On Thursday, a community close to Godogodo town was attacked by armed men killing the community Head, John Zogo, 85 year old man and six others.

The incident has stirred up fear in other communities in the state where allegedly Fulani herdsmen invaded few months back and killed some villagers.

On Friday, Dr. Humble Katuka, the acting Local Government Chairman who spoke with newsmen confirmed the tragic incident and he said the curfew that was impose in the area was no longer adhered to.

In his words “I was told that the soldiers that was deployed to secure the area noted that some youths in the village were parading some locally made fire arms publicly”

“Major Mbiam later scheduled a meeting between the soldiers and the village youths about their weapons and in the course of the meeting there was a gun shot and everyone ran off in fear for their lives including the soldiers”

“I was told that the gun shot lasted for over 15 minutes and after it six people were killed including the village head, about 16 houses were burnt down and the gunmen were wearing something that looks like a army uniform”

Eye witnesses said even the soldiers were fighting back for their lives, they said the soldiers didn’t turn their guns on the villagers.
