British Airways Debunked Rumors Of Pulling Out Of Nigeria

British Airways have debunked the report of pulling out of Nigeria because of its operating environment.

This is due to the comments made by the Country manager British Airways, Mr Kola Olayinka, who said The UK carrier is struggling to repatriates its share of the $575 million that Nigeria is owing the airlines from tickets sold in Nigeria.

However, on Sunday, the airline said there have not issued out any report of them pulling out of Nigeria and that Nigeria is a strategic market for the British Airways to operate and they will continue to operate in the country.

According to the airline, “It has come to our notice that some newspapers are disseminating reports that the British Airways is considering leaving Nigeria, we have not issued out any of such report, the British Airways and Nigeria have a long history together, we started operations in the country about 80 years ago as Imperial Airways so we have come a long way, we did not release any statement as regards terminating our operations in the country”.

“Nigeria is still a very strategic market for British Airways and we will continue to operate in Nigeria”
