Defiled Women By Fulani Herdsmen In Enugu Communities Face Divorce
After the tragic incident in Eke, Udi Local Government Area and Nimbo, Uzo-uwani Local Government Area in Enugu State where hundreds of people were killed including women and children by Fulani herdsmen, there have been an increasing number of divorce cases in these communities due to the attack and r*pe of married women by the hoodlums in the communities.
In a statement issued by the Mr. Anthony Enu, the president general of the Eke Town Union says, due to the cases of defilement by the Fulani herdsmen, men have refused to take back their wives who were defiled by the herdsmen.
The president general of Eke Town union said, due to the frequent attacks on the community by herdsmen, our women and daughters were consistently defiled and infected with serious diseases thereby causing indirect divorce in these communities
He said, “if my wife is defiled and messed up by the Fulani herdsmen and she is infected, why should I take her back? this means that what is holding her will hold me as well”
The president general of Eke Town Union went on to say that the Fulani herdsmen are now making themselves landlord in their communities harassing their people.
