Former President Jonathan’s Uncle Released By Kidnappers With No Ransom Paid

Chief Nitabi Inegite, the unce of the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who was kidnapped by gunmen two weeks ago has been released.

Chief Nitabai Inegite a foster father to former president and a lecturer at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, he was kidnapped on 17 February together with his cousin by the name Samuel Okies at their home in Otuoke.

Mr Peter Ogunyanwo, the commissioner of police, Bayelsa state revealed that intentions of the former president to the public during a parade of 37 armed robbery and kidnappers at the police command headquarters.

According to the commissioner of police, the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said that he is not willing to pay the ransom the kidnappers are demanding for the release of his uncle, and we support him because we will not encourage kidnapping in our dear country.

We have discuss this issue with the former president times without number, he has already made up his mind that he will not pay the kidnappers the ransom for his uncle.

He said even when the kidnappers reduced the ransom to N2 million he still did not consider it, right now we are close to catching those kidnappers and we are very certain we will get them.

The commissioner of the state urged the entire public to desist from paying ransom to kidnappers because it encourages them to keep kidnapping people.

He said we should act like Governor Seriake Dickson who also refused to pay ransom when his sister was kidnapped, ”that is exactly what we should learn” he said.
