Igbo Unity Forum, Igbo Leaders Call On The People To Build Igboland
On Thursday, Igbo leaders gathered themselves to think about how they would develop their homeland, the Igbo nation.
The meeting which held in Imo State Capital, Owerri lasted for some ours as the leaders contemplate on how to improve their homeland.
The Igbo socio-cultural organization called Ohanaeze Ndigbo urged the government and traditional institution of the South-East to think about how to move the Igbo nation forward and make it a better place for their next generation.
Speaking in the Igbo Unity Forum, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey, gave a welcome address and said the forum for some time now has been striving to the mouth-piece of the people in the region but had not recorded any success until now.
In his words, “there have never been a time when we all came together to proffer solution to Igbo problems”.
He said that the Igbo people are great achievers adding that the Igbo contributed about 30 per cent to the development of Lagos and also in Abuja.
He Urged the Igbo people to bring back what they did in those states to the Igbo nation, “the way we helped developing those state we should do the same with out state here in our Igbo nation”.
