JAMB Sends 2016/2017 Admission Lists To Institutions
On Sunday, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, announced that the provisional admission list for 2016/2017 admission year has been forwarded to all the tertiary institution in Nigeria.
In a statement released in Abuja by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Registrar, Professor Dibu Ojerinde, says that the admission list for the 2016/2017 admission year has been sent to all the tertiary institutions in the country.
The JAMB admission list sent to these tertiary institutions contains names of candidates who have scored the required cut off mark and above and are qualified for screening into this institutions.
According to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Registrar, “this is not in anyway an admission list but it is for the institution to know those that qualify for screening”.
Prof. Ojerinde said, each institutions should source from the first print out sent to them by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, if the list sent to them now is not enough for them to compile the names of those that are qualified for screening into the admission.
JAMB Registrar said, that admission into any tertiary institution would only be approved by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB but this can only be done after the institution have screened and certified that the candidate is qualify for the admission.
He said that the intention of JAMB is to make sure that the space created for admission by the institution is properly utilized.
