Kogi State Cult Clash, 13 Persons Killed

In Kogi State, 13 persons have been killed in a cult clash between two cult rivals in Idah, headquarters of Idah Local Government Area pof the state.

The fight between these two cult resulted to the death of 13 persons, 11 men, two women and others who were victims of machete cut during the fight.

Cultism is still one of the major problem in Nigeria and with the last 6 months it has claimed over 100 lives on people in the country.

The Kogi state cult clash which started on Friday got out of controlĀ  after some unknown boys shot and killed one Danjuma Amode who was said to be killed in front of his house in GRA after which the use machete to butcher his body.

The news of this Danjuma Amodu, commonly known as Murphy went throughout the town, bad news travel fast and some fully armed men who were believed to be members of his cult group held everyone in the town hostage fro several hours.

The heavily armed men drove and shot around the town for several hours and also went in search for their rival who shot and butchered one of their members.

It was gathered that between Ibro junction and Bishop road junction were blocked for about 2 hours from 8-10 a.m after which they went to some joints looking for their targets.

According to a source who spoke with newsmen said, the owner of the joint, Haruna Achema together with his wife were shot and left there to die, a customer who was also in the joint was shot dead by this armed men.

The State Police Commissioner, Yakubu Usman ho confirmed the incident said that they have already started investigating and his men are closing to catching the perpetrators of the act
