Police Foil Kidnap Attempt In Abakaliki
Ebonyi state police has foiled a kidnap attempt on on Mr. Duru Hezekiah, 35 year old. The kidnap was already carried out around 3.00am by three armed men operating with a light blue gulf car, who trailed the victim to his house at no,2 Duru Hezekiah street, Federal locust housing Abakaliki.It was stated that Mr, Duru was driving and with his Honda pilot jeep with Registration Number GWA727NU when the kidnappers accosted and kidnapped him along side his gate man identified as Stephen.
Both of them as gathered were pushed into the Honda jeep while one of the kidnappers took care of the steering.
But courageous Duru as gathered, along the road while there were been taken away struggled and jumped through the window and ran for his dear live. Fortunately for him as scooped from family source, the men of Ebonyi SARS were on patrol within the vicinity and they quickly rushed to is rescue.
It was learned that when the kidnappers cited the policemen, they abandoned both the driver and the Jeep and took to their heels.
When contacted the command PPRO, he confirmed the story adding that the only items lost were one IPhone which is valued for N200,000 and a Blackberry phone valued for N100,000 and a cash sum of N70,000, but he expressed his joy that the attempt by the kidnappers failed and no life was lost.
He also stated that the Jeep was still recovered within th locus neighborhood while assuring that plans were on to get hold of the hoodlums that tried to kidnap Mr. Duru.
