Rivers State Cult War – Governor Wike Demolishes Suspected Cultist House
On Tuesday, the governor of Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike took some security agents in the state to some cultist hideouts.
Governor Wike also ordered an immediate demolition of one Ihunwo’s house in Rumuolumini community in Obio/Apkor Local Government Area.
He said the reason for the quick demolition is because the building was acquired through crime and the demolition is in line with the Anti-kidnapping and Cultism Law adding that his administration will not tolerate kidnapping and cultism.
He said in his administration efforts will be put in fight kidnapping and cultism, and anyone arrested over kidnapping or cultism will face the full penalty of their crimes.
Governor Nyesom Wike narrated that cultists have been terrorizing the people in Obio/Akpor local government and now the state government has taken over their hideouts and the cultists have been arrested.
He said, “after we have finished demolishing their hideout, we will build a police station and a mini barracks in that same location”.
He urged the cultists in the state to lay down their arms and they would be granted amnesty.
The people of the state should also know that we are very serious in our fight against cultism and kidnapping, anyone who is a cultist should come forward and lay down their arms but if they don’t they will be caught and would face the full wrath of the law.
