United States Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay teenage daughter was shot dead on Sunday following a shooting at a restaurant In Lexington, Kentucky, U.S.
According to a local newspaper, Lexington herald Leader, Trinity Gay, 15 year old was shot in the neck. She was immediately rushed to the hospital but she died with an hour.
According to police, witnesses said the sprinter was hit during the exchange of gunfire between two cars, two people in one of the cars have been detailed for questioning.
While speaking at a local TV station, WLEX, the sprinter who holds the US record of 100m, Tyson Gay said, “She didn’t make it, am so confused, she just came back last week for fall break, its so crazy. I don’t even know what happened”
According to her mother, Shoshana Boyd, the 15-year-old Trinity Gay was a top high school sprinter herself who had dreams of competing in the Olympics and also becoming a surgeon.
She told the New York Daily News, “She was so innocent, She was so innocent”
She said, I just want people to stop shooting and realize they are hurting people, its just random, they don’t understand, they do not understand who they are hurting”
The American sprinter, Tyson Gay competed in the 2016 Olympics on the 4×100 meter relay team but he didn’t win a medal
