Unidentified Gunmen In Police Uniform Killed ASP In Bayelsa & Kidnaps Two In Rivers
On Monday in Yenagoa the capital city of Bayelsa state, unidentified gunmen dressed as police officers killed a senior police officer, ASP Matthew Apkos.
The Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Matthew Apkos was killed close to OMPADEC school field in Amarata in Yenagoa by these gunmen who dressed as special police squad at about 5pm.
The people living in the capital city of Bayelsa are living with their hearts in their hands.
On Wednesday, another related incident in Rivers state as unidentified gunmen stormed Rumukwachi community in Obio/Apor Local Government Area in the state and kidnapped two persons.
In the course of the kidnapped a stray bullet fired by the hoodlums hit an elderly woman on her stomach and her leg. She was rushed to the city hospital, the doctors said she is struggling for her life and they are doing all they can to save her.
The unidentified gunmen kidnapped Lucky Amadi and his neighbor Rotimi.
This same unidentified gunmen still dressed as policemen in carrying their criminal acts.
Speaking with newsmen, an eyewitness and a resident of the Rumukwachi community said “they were dressed in police uniform, like a special Police squad”.
Describing what they wore, he said they were dressed like Special Aniti-Robbery Squad, SARS with bullet proofs, they came in on a black Hilux.
He said, they way they came in was very somehow, everyone suspected them and as they started shooting people started running, I was at the supermarket opposite the scene.
